CPPR student, Saeed Najafian, from the lab of Dr. Bodhi Chaudhuri at UConn School of Pharmacy, in collaboration with CPPR mentors Parind Desai and Elaheh Ardalani from GSK, received the 1st Place Academic Award from the North American Mixing Forum (NAMF) during this year’s AIChE Annual Meeting. Congratulations, Saeed!

CPPR Student, Iheanacho (Theo) Enyum, from the lab of Professor Robin Bogner, was named the Steve Nail Emerging Researcher at the CPPR Scientific Conference held at Purdue University last month. Mariya Khiterer from Alkermes presented him with the award. Congratulations, Theo!

The CPPR Semi-Annual Scientific Conference was held October 27-29th at Purdue University. Over 45 industry experts, faculty, and students gathered to share cutting-edge research proposals and current project updates. Thank you to all who made this event a massive success!

The National Institute of Pharmaceutical Technology and Education (NIPTE) has named Dr. Xiuling Lu of University of Connecticut the 2025 Michael J. Pikal Distinguished Scholar in Pharmaceutical Processing. This is a particularly meaningful award that is named for former CPPR Faculty and Leader, Michael J. Pikal. The National Institute for Pharmaceutical Technology & Education (NIPTE) named Dr. Na Li of University of Connecticut as this year’s Rising Star. The Rising Star Scholarship is awarded to early career investigators for outstanding scientific achievements in pharmaceutical science and technology. Dr. Li joins CPPR faculty member Dr. Raman Bahal (UConn) and Dr. Tony Zhou (Purdue), in the expanding group of CPPR faculty winners of this distinguished award. Dr. Bodhi Chaudhuri has been elected an American Association of Pharmaceutical Sciences (AAPS) Fellow. He will be recognized at the upcoming AAPS PharmSci360 scientific conference in San Antonio, TX. Bodhi joins CPPR faculty, Eric Munson, Diane Burgess, Xiuling Lu, Tony Zhou, Raj Suryanarayanan, Robin Bogner, Tonglei Li, Stephen Byrn, Lynne Taylor, Yoon Yeo, and Calvin Sun, who were previously elected to fellow status. Dr. Xiuling Lu has been inducted into the College of Fellows of the Controlled Release Society (CRS). She joins CPPR Faculty Diane Burgess (UConn) and Yoon Yeo and Kinam Park (Purdue) who previously received this honor. During the CPPR Semi-Annual Scientific Conference held at UConn School of Pharmacy in May, Dr. Robin Bogner was presented with the Distinguished Service to Scholarship and Teaching Award. She received this award in recognition of her dedication to critical education and distinguished research which have made lasting contributions to the School of Pharmacy, inspiring generations, and shaping the future of pharmaceutical sciences. Congratulations to Dr. Bogner on this well-earned accomplishment!

Congratulations to Dr. Raman Bahal on being selected as a 2025–2028 Emerging Leaders in Health and Medicine (ELHM) Scholar by the National Academy of Medicine (NAM). This highly competitive honor is awarded to only 10 individuals nationally each year and reflects Dr. Bahal’s outstanding contributions and leadership in health and medicine.
