Dr. Bahal of University of Connecticut will receive the award at the opening ceremony of the PharmSci360 meeting. He joins fellow CPPR faculty, Dr. Tony Zhou of Purdue University, who received the award in 2021. Dr. Bahal is best known for innovations in nucleic acid-based chemistry and its delivery strategies.

UConn CPPR Student, Dinesh Choudhary, Receives Steve Nail Emerging Researcher Award
At the May 23 Scientific Conference of the CPPR, Dinesh Choudhary from the lab group of Robin Bogner, won the Emerging Researcher Award named in honor of Steve Nail, co-founder of CPPR.
Three CPPR Students Were Invited to Speak at ISLFD in April 20, 2023
KinnariArte, from the lab group of QiTonyZhou at Purdue, LingZhu, from the lab group of RobinBogner, and ShipraMalik, recent graduate of the lab group of RamanBahal at UConnPharmacy all gave talks at the recent meeting of ISLFD in Chicago, IL. Kinnari also won the outstanding poster award at the one-day conference.
Eli Lilly Joins the Center for Pharmaceutical Processing Research
Lilly joins Alexion, Astrazeneca, ATS Life Sciences – Scientific Products, Glaxosmithkline, Genentech, Janssen, Roquette, and Sanofi on the CPPR Industrial Advisory Board. We look forward to Lilly’s participation in our quest to advance pharmaceutical processing. The funds that Lilly has committed to CPPR research are pooled with those of the other member companies. The funds support rigorous academic research into industrially relevant pharmaceutical processing research at the CPPR academic sites, with mentorship from representatives from CPPR companies.
Another Successful CPPR Scientific Conference
Fifty-three industrial scientists, faculty, and students gathered to exchange ideas, report on ongoing projects, present proposals, and give final reports on May 23 at University of Connecticut in Storrs, CT. Process advancements in freezing, drying, spraying, mixing, cryopreservation, crystallization, and continuous granulation of small molecular drugs and many biologics were presented.
